License Key Management

Introduction

Scieneer Common Lisp requires a small license key to enable it to run for the licensed period and on the licensed machine.

The license key is loaded upon startup, and should be placed in one of the following files which are searched in order:

• $HOME/.scl-lkeys
• $SCLLIB/.scl-lkeys
• /opt/scl/lib/.scl-lkeys

Alternatively a license key file may be specified when starting SCL using the -lkeys command line argument. When specified, this file is search first before searching the other default files above.
